Ma Baensch's

As the advertising slogan says, It won't be a party if you don't invite Ma. Ma Baensch's herring has been a Milwaukee tradition for over 75 years. As a child, I remember the large glass jar sitting next to a plate of crackers, and watching the adults snack away, thinking to myself that they must have been crazy to eat something that smelled like that. As I grew older, I learned to appreciate many of the delicacies that I couldn't understand at a younger age.
