While Fall is probably my favorite time of year, it can be a bit confusing at times. Saturday was spent preparing the yard for winter by raking the leaves for the first time, cutting back the perennials, digging out some unwanted vegetation, and so on. Saturday's cool weather was followed by a warm, sunny Sunday, and today was even nicer. The Daylight Savings Time change early Sunday made sunset come way too early last night. It's only going to get worse for another month and a half, then the days will start to get longer.
These plants (thistles, perhaps?) may be dead, but they remain standing, defying mother nature.
