This building at 1699 Astor is currently home to Johnsen Schmaling Architects. Based on this mosaic on the Brady Street side of the building, I'd suspect this was originally a Schlitz tavern. As I mentioned in an earlier post, many of the taverns in town were once supported by a specific brewery. Schlitz's 1960's formulation has been reintroduced, and is available again in many locations.
