Kaszube's Park

Jones Island was once home to a community of immigrants who fished the waters of Lake Michigan off the shores of Milwaukee. The Kaszubes, originally from Poland, lived and worked on the island, and were eventually displaced in the early 20th century. Kaszube's Park is on Jones Island, and is the smallest park in the county. In addition to this anchor, there is a plaque commemorating the inhabitiants of this settlement. Today, the island is a peninsula, and is populated with various industrial firms.

Milwaukee seems to be influenced by some Polish history

Thank you for your blog. I find it a nice way to learn more about our city.

Tonight, my mom mentioned she was here and I told her about your blog/photograph. (she is anti blogging, but impressed with something like this)

She mentioned, her friends mother lived here a very long time ago and they have a book that was made on the life on this island.
